Fire Dancing

Dancing with fire is one of the most exciting things I do. How does it feel to dance with fire? Hot obviously. ;) but also a huge adrenaline rush. When your spinning fire- whether fire poi or fans fans or any prop- you are dancing with something that is dancing on its own too. Fire "dances"- it has a pattern of movement of its own. I have to be very aware of the wind direction, my surroundings, the temperature of the place I am performing, and more. In addition to safety measures and technical aspects, I have to actually make it interesting to you- the viewer. Fire dancing isn't easy & it's not for everyone. The props I spin can be learned without fire though- poi and staff especially. You can learn those and never have to light it on fire. I encourage you to browse the fire arts and pick up something. If fire dancing makes you nervous, there is always LED :)

Djing at the Room Hollywood Afrojack Pre-Party 6.25.12

Tonight- Spinning at The Room in Hollywood, California. It is the Afrojack Pre-Party event "Electro-City" full of house beats and spiced up with electro. I am playing this event with DJ Hollywood in our duo project- Two Stars Collide. No Cover & Drink Specials all night from 9:00 PM- 2:00 AM. Make sure to arrive early to avoid lines to get in :) Cant wait to see everyone there!

Carl Cox at Exchange LA

I went to see house music legend Carl Cox at Exchange LA. Not my first CC show and def not my last! Carl Cox is a veteran of house music. I felt the soul of house music in his DJ set. His sets are not full of top 40 house tracks- you'll only find the roots of house music with producer Carl Cox. Mixture of house/tech/techno is perfect to generate various levels of bass & sub bass to keep you grooving all night." I made it " through his 3 hour DJ-set dancing right in front of the booth- my body didn't stop moving the entire time. Check out his sounds if you have yet to experience CC.

My DJ Duo Group TWO STARS COLLIDE

My DJ duo -consisting of DJ Hollywood of Memphis and myself- are about to tear up dance floors this Friday, June 8 @ Club Ambiente in Alhambra, CA. Not only are you getting a rockin house music set from us, you'll get to see some fire dancing by yours truly. I can't wait to have a fun night with my friends & fans :) Get your camera phones charged up and a good night sleep the night before ;)

3 Show Weekend in Los Angeles Area!

Starting June 8, 2012, I have a huge show weekend! June 8 will be a show featuring my DJ duo project, Two Stars Collide, at Club Ambiente in Alhambra, CA. I will also be fire dancing at this event :) On June 9, I am DJing at the all female DJ line-up event, Femme Fatale. Femme Fatale at Ecco Hollywood is a "Hollywood Crime" themed event. Wear something fun and crazy at this event! June 10 is Shimmy Showcase in Long Beach, CA at Viento y Agua Coffeehouse. I will be belly dancing with other local dancers at 5:30 PM. Professional Belly Dancer

I have been belly dancing for 10 years. Belly Dancing is an art and there is a whole history behind it. I stylize in cabaret/Egyptian belly dance and add a flavor of my own. I teach private lessons, group lessons, and occasional choreography. One of the most fun types of events I teach is the harem party or all girls party. Think: wine, food, friends, and learning to dance with your girlfriends. It's a stress free lesson and the instructor comes right to your home. We provide the music, lesson, and coin hip belts to get you shakin'. I also teach hula hooping & other performance arts for these types of "parties". So much fun! :)

Fire Wings!!!

Bristerfest 2012 was such a success!! I flew to Memphis to perform with my troupe- The Dancing Fire. Band Agori Tribe and our performance group headlined the April 28 night of the festival at the Levitt Shell in Memphis, TN. I debuted my fire wings- constructed & designed by one of our own fire dancers, Adam Tate. Adam has been on of my biggest inspirations in performance. I love our group because we always come up with new and exciting ideas. None of our shows are ever the same. It's always about showing our fans and audience something they have never before :)

Bad business

Lennard James, head of Enzo Entertainment, and distributor of Lotus Energy Drink wrote my dance group a bad check after our performance at his launch party in Memphis in March 2012. He wrote us a check and knowingly stopped payment several days later. I gave him deal for the amount of work & performance my group did AND provided him a free photographer- Joseph Warner Photography. He still has yet to pay my performers for their hard work. In addition, he threatened to sue me if I contacted him further. Think twice before you work for Lennard James.

Bristerfest 2012

Heading to Memphis for Bristerfest 2012 at the Levitt Shell. April 28th from 9-10 PM my troupe, The Dancing Fire, will be performing at the outdoor concert venue alongside Agori Tribe. Can't wait!!!

Fitness Hula Hoop Workshop in Memphis, Tennessee

I am teaching a fitness hula hooping workshop in Memphis, Tennessee on January 22nd at the brand new Madison Dance Studios located at 1555 Madison Avenue. Fitness Hula Hooping is the newest & hottest way to get fit and have fun. I keep one hoop in my car and anytime I am outside on a nice day or have some free time- I hoop. Hula hooping is not just for kids & it is a workout that is far from boring. In addition to being a fun workout, you get your "toning" and cardio all at once. I will hula hoop for 2 hours and not even notice the time. Some people get discouraged with new workouts and just want the class to be over or the workout to end quickly- Hooping is def not one of those types of workouts. I love to hoop in the park on sundays with a group of friends and we share tricks & hoop dance moves. Did you know you can hula hoop around your knees?! There are many ways to hoop- not just around the waist. Come to my workshop on January 22 if you are in the Memphis area- I would love to meet you and teach you my hoop dance workout.:)

Sexy Santa Party

Sexy Santa Party! December 16 @ Rehab Disco in Memphis, TN

The show was a huge success! My troupe, The Dancing Fire, and Amber Lea of Golconda Dance Productions joined us for a night of fire and belly dance performances with a "sexy santa" theme. The pic features our new blacklight/LED holiday costumes- perfect for the dance club. DJ Hollywood & DJ Krutch, along with me :) , mixed the top hits in electro and house. Maverick Hurley, our fire breather, surprised the crowd with a couple breaths of fire at the peak of our performance to Tiesto's track: "Work Hard Play Hard". Adam Tate, The Dancing Fire's top poi spinner and object manipulation specialist, rocked a new costume with LEDwire. I think LED props have started to become one of my favorite.
